Alec Baldwin totally nailed Trump on the 'SNL' premiere

That was huge.

Saturday Night Live began its 42nd season with a new
Donald Trump: Alec Baldwin, 16-time host of SNL, was
tapped to play the Republican candidate for president (as
recommended by Tina Fey), and he nailed it.

Baldwin starred in a presidential debate cold open
against Kate McKinnon's spot-on Hillary Clinton, with Michael Che as Lester Holt. He certainly looked the part, with his pouty face, fluffy hair and tan skin. And he had some winning lines, like this one early on:

"Our jobs are fleeing this country. ... They're going to China (pronounced 'Jy-na'). ... If Hillary knew how, she would have done it already. Period. End of story. I won the debate. I stayed calm, just like I promised. It is over. Goodnight, Hofstra," he said at the start of the nearly 10-minute sketch.

The rest of Baldwin-as-Trump's words perfectly parodied what the real Trump said. Remember when Holt pointed out Trump was for the Iraq war? "I was against the war, ask anyone in the world named Sean Hannity. ... I told him in private. ... Next thing I knew, I was kissing Sean Hannity."

How about the sniffles from the presidential debate? "Sniffles. Do you hear that? It's picking up somebody sniffing here? It's her sniffs."

And the part in the actual debate when he brought up Rosie O'Donnell for no clear reason: "We should be talking about important issues like Rosie O'Donnell. She's a fat loser and everyone agrees with me. I just wanted to bring that up."

McKinnon's Clinton almost cried tears of joy. "This is going so well," she said. "Exactly how I always dreamed."

"I was going to say something extremely rough to Hillary tonight, but I said to myself, 'I can't do it, I just can't do it.' But if I had said it, it would be a nuclear bomb," said SNL Trump, alluding to Bill Clinton's White House affair.

Did Hillary Clinton have a response?

"Not a response, more of a request. Can America vote right now?" said McKinnon.

We vote in favor of having Baldwin and McKinnon debate on SNL again.

Want to see another politically-themed sketch? There was also a Team Donald v. Team Hillary Family Feud bit on the SNL premiere, which had Kellyanne Conway (Kate McKinnon), Ivanka Trump (Margot Robbie), Gov. Chris Christie (Bobby Moynihan) and Vladimir Putin (Beck Bennett) take on Bill Clinton (Darrell Hammond), Sarah Silverman (new addition Melissa Villaseñor), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Cecily Strong) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (Larry David). New players Alex Moffat and Mikey Day also made cameos as Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, respectively.
