Bids and picks in RTO

The memos released in RTO announcing a bid for vacation slots and a general pick in the A Div.  

The bid for vacation weeks is the result of a grievance filed by union officers in RTO when the TA cut the number of weeks available for vacations in June, July and August.  The picking for vacations for 2011 was done last fall.  We reached a settlement with the TA that requires them to raise the number of slots available for vacation in the summer and, in order to fill those slots, the bid is being conducted.  There is supposed to be a second bid in the fall to fill vacation slots that become open as a result of the first bid.

 

The A div pick that will begin in mid Feb (and go into effect in late June) is for jobs, holidays and RDOs.  It is not for vacations.  After the A Div finishes picking, the B Div will pick for jobs, holidays and RDOs.
