Line picks


Held when:
  1. regular schedule for that line is changed
  2. runs are added or eliminated from the schedule (more than a week)
  3. when 10% of the regular runs on the line are open (at least 2)
  4. on a line pick selection of runs must begin within 48 hours after the new schedule is placed in operation. If early runs are not available for operators who had early runs on the old schedule, they will will be put on the extra list.
  5. runs finishing before 9:00 PM - early runs
  6. runs finishing at 9:00 PM or later - late runs
  7. in depot picks at least 20 operators will pick daily
  8. when a new line is opened all runs of the new line will be put up for a depot pick within 48 hours of operation of the new line
  9. when a line is discontinued, operators will be put on the extra list and a depot pick to commence within 48 hours of discontinuance
  10. when a line is transferred from one depot to another, a depot pick to be held at the depot losing the line, prior to date of transfer, so operators holding runs on the line to be transferred may chose to be transferred with the line or remain at their old depot. At the depot that is receiving the line a depot pick of all runs is to be held not later than one week of the date of the transfer. This will include any operators that transferred with the line...in seniority order.
  11. operators cannot permanently switch runs after schedules are picked unless approved by vice president (example - assaulted operator, threatened operators). A temporary exchange not exceeding 14 days, can be arranged by approval of general superintendent.
  12. if driller (shifter) work unsatisfactory to maintenance they will be returned to depot and xlist can pick drill
  13. when Sat/Sun schedule operated on a holiday which falls on a weekday, operators who have picked runs on Sat/Sun shall work the runs picked for them on such schedule providing it is not their RDO
  14. new schedules must be posted 5 days prior to commencement of pick
  15. union must receive copy of pick no less than 20 days prior to the date set forth on schedule on which it will be posted for pick
  16. employees absent 30 days or more will not be allowed to pick
