Stations

A station agent was upset and could not understand why Samuelsen and TBOU went on a picnic on July 31 to Great Adventure costing the Local 100 a huge amount of money. She questions why those funds were not utilized to provide health care insurance for the laid off brethren? It is a valid point why blow off millions for junket.
We explained that the monies spent for the family day were not refundable. She countered that those tickets could have been sold to a ticketing agent like Ticketmaster and allowing for a recoup at minimum 70% of the original price. Then that amount could have been used to aid the laid off brethren with their health insurance coverage. However she feels that blowing off monies for fun is an indicative of faulty leadership.
We advised her Samuelsen as president of Local 100 has to travel in first class to conventions and functions and she fumed. He has to use the Greyhound bus in order to see how people struggle in their daily life. Then he may realize his assessment decision was incorrect.
She pointed to 2012 and claimed ‘anybody but Samuelsen’ and that ‘Samuelsen has to go’. She added that she has her children who are young adults in college and they do not have health coverage  and that no one is helping her. Although the law has been passed for coverage of young adults up to the age of 23 can be covered for under their parents insurance. She wondered why Samuelsen is not championing that cause.
She added that she wrote the employer asking that there should be no reduction to her pay check however she was mad when she received a response that does not agree with her wishes. She claimed that with her children going back to school with rising expenses it is tough for her to make ends meet. She feels like Samuelsen is taking her pay check monies and she said that she does not want to hear that name no more. So we say ‘no more Samuelsen’.

  1. The palin fact is the Solidarity is what is good about TWU local 100 and what is good about Unions. Helping those who need help. Sacrificing for those who have been wronged. Enjoy your 2% raise this month and think about thosse who won't be getting that raise.
