Young Adult Children

We here in why did you join the union are pleased to hear that our employer will comply with the federal laws specifically the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that covers the young adult children until they turn 26 years old.
This is great news for the members who at once felt aggrieved when their children were dropped by our employer. We hope that their children will stay healthy and also get greater protection in the event that they get sick.
However, as we know human beings are known to covet which is not approved according to the tenth commandment which states ‘thou shalt not covet’. Therefore we do not want the members of to feel that they have to covet healthcare that others get for their children. As a result we will aspire to acquire affordable quality health care for the children of the members of the Local 100.
Now New York State law provides for young adults to stay on their parents’ plan up to the age of 29. We here in why did you join the union would recommend that Samuelsen encourage our employer to adhere to New York State law due to the fact that it provides longer and greater coverage for young adult children.
We all wish for easy answers to what should be affordable quality health care and universal coverage for our children. But it’s not that easy with our employer.
